Philadelphia, PA I August 4, 2025 – Arden Children’s Theatre (40 N 2nd St., Philadelphia, PA) is delighted to announce its 2025/26 season, inviting children and families to experience the magic of live theatre through two fun and imaginative stories. Buy-both-and-save subscription options are available now, and starting August 18, theatre lovers can purchase individual show tickets for their families and friends to see the Arden Children’s Theatre’s upcoming performances of A Wrinkle in Time and The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales. Both unique productions promise to spark curiosity, laughter, and adventure for audiences of all ages.
“We are thrilled to be staging new productions of A Wrinkle in Time and The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, stories that inspire kids to see the world from new perspectives,” says Producing Artistic Director Terrence J. Nolen. “Both of these beloved books have engaged readers’ imaginations for decades — and they have become exciting and funny new plays! Arden Children’s Theatre introduces so many kids to live theatre for the very first time, and we can’t wait to get young audiences laughing and cheering as they explore new worlds and some fairly stupid tales.”
Arden Children’s Theatre takes families on an exciting adventure this holiday season with A Wrinkle in Time, Madeleine L’Engle’s highly celebrated novel, adapted by John Glore and directed by Arden favorite Rebecca Wright. Families will join Meg Murry, her brother, Charles Wallace, and friend Calvin on a journey through time and space, traveling to distant planets, battling a spreading darkness, and discovering that sometimes the universe’s biggest mysteries can only be solved by believing in yourself. A Wrinkle in Time runs through January 25, 2026, and is intended for ages six and up.
In the spring, silliness takes center stage with The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith’s beloved book brought to life in a zany stage adaptation by John Glore. Steve Pacek, who co-directed Arden’s smash-hit production of RENT last season, is set to direct. Classic fairy tales get scrambled in this absurd, laugh-out-loud production, where the Ugly Duckling is still ugly, the Princess’s kiss goes hilariously wrong, and the Stinky Cheese Man causes all sorts of trouble. Ages five and up can enjoy this show through May 31st, 2026.
Audiences can purchase tickets now for A Wrinkle in Time and The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales at a special discounted rate with Arden’s Buy Both and Save offer that includes exclusive benefits, until individual tickets go on sale, on beginning August 18.
