After the sudden death of her father\, Alison sets out to unravel the many mysteries of her childhood growing up at the family funeral home in Central Pennsylvania. Moving between past and present\, Alison relives her life through a series of memories and conversations – from her coming out to her moving journey to acceptance. Kauders Foundation for sponsoring the 2021/22 Arden Children’s Theatre. \nSpecial thanks to the Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust for supporting Arden Theatre Company. \nArden Theatre Company receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts\, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts\, a federal agency. \n \n*Member of Actors’ Equity Association\, the Union of Professional Actors and Stage Managers in the United States. \nWARNING: Federal law provides severe civil and criminal penalties for the unauthorized reproduction\, distribution or exhibition of copyrighted motion pictures\, Audio & Videotapes or Audio & Videodiscs. Criminal copyright infringement is investigated by the FBI and may constitute a felony with a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and/or a $250\,000.00 fine.\n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \nI can still remember the time I saw snow for the very first time. I was fourteen years old and had just moved from Mexico to the United States. I was in the middle of science class and out of the corner of my eye\, right outside the window\, I saw these weird shaped cotton balls falling from the sky. I turned to look and blurted out loud “Is that snow?!”\, to which the rest of my classmates replied\, “Yes. Wait\, you’ve never seen snow before?” “No!” At that moment\, my teacher stopped class and took us all outside to play in the new snow! \nDoesn’t the first snow of winter always feel so magical? It sort of brings out the explorer in you. Every season has a magical element to it. The flowers blooming in spring\, the sun and green of summer and the spooky and orange tones of fall. It certainly makes an explorer and a creator out of Peter. Being curious and interested in all kinds of things helps you come up with new ideas and even your own inventions. You too can be like Peter\, no matter who or where you are\, or what anyone says. Just believe and trust in yourself and you too can help create a place where everyone is welcome. \nI hope you enjoy The Snowy Day and that you let that explorer and creator inside of you take you on exciting new journeys you never imagined possible. \nand… Action! \nRobi \n \n \n \n \n \n EZRA JACK KEATS (1916-1983) was a pioneer in American children’s literature.
