Freud's Last Session
By MARK ST. GERMAIN
Directed by IAN MERRILL PEAKES On the Arcadia Stage October 25 - December 23, 2012
On the day England enters World War II, Sigmund Freud invites a young C.S. Lewis
to his London flat. Here, the father of modern psychology challenges a little known professor on the brink of literary fame. Freud’s Last Session imagines a collision of these two brilliant minds over love, God, and life. Freud’s Last Session was supported by the Dolfinger-McMahon Foundation.
“A wholly engaging play [that] will leave you

Critical Acclaim– "This Arden production is excellent in every particular — the play choice itself, the design team’s work, the acting, and the direction. It’s completely absorbing, it transpires in a wonderful space, and it offers the opportunity to spend quality if imaginary time with two of the great minds of the last century.” –CurtainUp [Read More] "An intellectual and emotional jousting match.” –Broad Street Review [Read More] "An exhilarating verbal battle. The most intellectually stimulating 75 minutes I’ve spent in the theater in a long time.” –Chestnut Hill Local [Read More] "Gripping dialogue. Tour de-force acting and direction. Theater at its finest. Not only entertains, but also encourages thought, conversation, and a desire to seek knowledge” –Stage Magazine [Read More] "An intelligent work that respects its subjects and its audience, and makes complex religious and philosophical arguments approachable.” –Talkin’ Broadway [Read More] |
